Gratitude for God’s Provision | 03

AUTHOR: Holy Scripture

Read or listen to 2 Chronicles 15:10–15.

They were gathered in Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign. At that time they sacrificed to the Lord seven hundred cattle and seven thousand sheep and goats from all the plunder they had brought. Then they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their ancestors with all their heart and all their soul. Whoever would not seek the Lord God of Israel would be put to death, young or old, man or woman. They took an oath to the Lord in a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets, and with rams’ horns. All Judah rejoiced over the oath, for they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They had sought him with all sincerity, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.What are the connections between these passages? How did the people’s lack of remembrance of God’s provision in the past lead to their rebellion in the present?

What is the emphasis of this celebration? When was the last time you felt truly grateful for the ways God provided?

The written Scripture is CSB, however, the audio Scripture is ESV.

Express gratitude for the various ways the Lord has provided this week. Consider how gratitude might help prevent spiritual atrophy.

Two things I ask of you;
don’t deny them to me before I die:
Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me.
Give me neither poverty nor wealth;
feed me with the food I need.
Otherwise, I might have too much
and deny you, saying, “Who is the Lord?”
or I might have nothing and steal,
profaning the name of my God   Proverbs 30:7-9
