Pray with God’s People | David and Jonathan

AUTHOR: Holy Scripture

READ:

Read or listen to 1 Samuel 18:1-5.

What stands out to you in this Scripture this time?

As soon as he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father’s house. Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David, and his armor, and even his sword and his bow and his belt. And David went out and was successful wherever Saul sent him, so that Saul set him over the men of war. And this was good in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.

FOCUS:

God made us to communicate individually with him through prayer, but to also communicate with others as we regularly gather together. Join us at one of our five campuses today to worship God, hear his word, and pray with other believers.

PRAY:

Spend some time specifically praying for your local church. Pray for it to follow Jesus faithfully. Lift up those in leadership who serve others. Ask God to empower this church to bear witness to him in this city. Lift up those in this body who are suffering. Thank him for his Church.
