Solitude & Thanksgiving | 04

AUTHOR: Holy Scripture

READ:

Since discontentment can cause us to turn to other things or people for fulfillment instead of Christ, we will also practice gratitude in our solitude.

Read  or listen to Colossians 3:15-17.

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

FOCUS/SILENCE:

Write out 5 things that you are thankful for this week that were not a direct result of your own efforts. After doing this, set a timer for 5 minutes and sit in silence focusing on gratitude to God for those things.

PRAY:

Write out a prayer thanking God for what he has done for you this week.
