Reading the Letter to the Ephesians | 12
AUTHOR: Holy Scripture
Read :
Ephesians 1:1-5:33
Read the letter to the Ephesians from the beginning to the current week’s Scripture passage. Feel free to read this larger portion of Scripture however you feel comfortable; silently, out loud, or listening to it being read.
Ephesians 6:1-4
6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 ‘Honor your father and mother’ (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 ‘that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.’ 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Focus:
What words, images, verses, or themes came to mind as you read or heard this letter? Record this somewhere for future reference (if you have the Companion Journal, that would be a great place to keep a record of these as the weeks go on).
Pray:
As you read the larger portion of Scripture, take the word, image, verse, or theme that stood out and offer it back up to God in prayer.
