Lectio Divina | 13
AUTHOR: Holy Scripture
READ – Lectio Divina:
Lectio Divina is the spiritual discipline of attentive and contemplative reflection upon the word of God. If needed you can review the instructions on how to practice this discipline from a previous day HERE.
Focus:
Engage this week’s passage through the discipline of Lectio Divina.
Opening Prayer
Hearing: What word or phrase is God bringing to your attention from this passage in Ephesians 6:5-9?
6:5 Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, 6 not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7 rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free. 9 Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.
Seeing: Read or listen to it again. Why does this word or phrase stick out?
Calling: Read or listen to it a third time. What is the Lord calling you to do in response? Write this down somewhere you will remember it. (The Companion Journal could be a great place for this.)
Pray:
Closing Prayer: Pray this text over your day.
