Prayer to God Most High | Prayer for the Church |
AUTHOR: Holy Scripture
Prepare yourself for worship and the preaching of God’s word.
Read: Psalm 97
Focus: After spending the last week meditating on Scripture that reveals the character of God, let us pray in response to God Most High. Take a moment to pray for yourself, others at your campus, your pastor, and all campuses of Christ Community.
Pray: You are invited to pray this written prayer, or write your own prayer.
God Most High, you sit enthroned above all creation, and you are worthy of all praise we could ever give you.
We confess that we have often given our devotion which rightly belongs to you to lower things.
Your word tells us that though you are high and lifted up, and inhabit eternity and are utterly holy, yet you choose to dwell with the contrite and lowly.
Nowhere has this been more clearly shown than in the advent of your Son, who was born into our world in the person of Jesus.
For this reason, yours is the name that is above every name in heaven and on earth.
Prepare: After you’ve spent some time in prayer, check out the video below for a preview of what to expect in this week’s theFormed.life.

If we are not intentional, the Christian message of Jesus’ resurrection may be easily overshadowed or absorbed into the mix of the Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunts, pastel colors, and marshmallow Peeps. But as Christians, the resurrection of Jesus must be front and center in our Easter celebrations.
