Taking the Simple Next Step | Simplicity In Your Words
Written By Dawn Heckert
Read: Re-read the passage from Monday. What new insights do you have?
Focus: The disciplines are practices that the Spirit of God often uses to do His work of shaping us to be more like Jesus. In light of the sharpening article from Monday, practice the discipline of simplicity in this way today.
Think back to the article on simplicity from Monday:
- Take 5 minutes to sit and meditate on Job 2:11-13.
- As you reflect on the passage, think of friends, neighbors or coworkers in your community who are suffering, and pray for them.
- Write a note of encouragement to someone from your prayer list.
- Be mindful as you engage in conversations to ask God to give you words and to hold your tongue and provide space for the Holy Spirit to work.
Prayer: Ask God to help you have a new mindfulness around your quantity and quality of words as you engage in conversations.
