Meditating on God’s Word | Luke 23:22-25

Take time today to memorize the ghastly scene of Jesus being handed over in Luke 23:22-25. One of the best ways to meditate on God’s Word is to chew on it, and one of the best ways to chew on it is to hide it in your heart. Let the concepts, ideas, and images marinate in your soul as you internalize the Word.
A third time he said to them, “Why? What evil has he done? I have found in him no guilt deserving death. I will therefore punish and release him.” But they were urgent, demanding with loud cries that he should be crucified. And their voices prevailed. So Pilate decided that their demand should be granted. He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Jesus over to their will.

Prayer tills the soil of the soul to receive the word of God. Take time today resting, delighting and listening to God in prayer. Take 10 minutes today to pray for God to speak afresh through His word, and that you would have “ears to hear and eyes to see” His truth and direction.
How does the resurrection change the way you look at ordinary problems? Does it? How can you grow there?
If we are not intentional, the Christian message of Jesus’ resurrection may be easily overshadowed or absorbed into the mix of the Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunts, pastel colors, and marshmallow Peeps. But as Christians, the resurrection of Jesus must be front and center in our Easter celebrations.
