You Pick Two
AUTHOR: Tom Nelson
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. – Colossians 3:23-24 ESV
One of the greatest obstacles to our spiritual growth is not necessarily willful disobedience as it is a convenient “you pick two” compartmentalization of our lives.
Take a minute and read Paul’s instructions in Ephesians 5:15-6:4 to households. What stands out to you?
MEDITATE ON GOD’S WORD – Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” | Luke 21:1-4
If we cannot honor and serve our own family, what hope do we have of honoring our boss? Our church family? Our neighbor? God Himself?
